Fat Cattle Report
Good afternoon this is Shaun McHugh taking a look at the weekly livestock markets out of Dubbo for the first week of May, 2025.
Tallied numbers this week included -

Into the cattle pens firstly, where numbers lifted and quality was good. Large runs of cows and grown cattle met a full field of buyers keen to secure their share of the yarding. Feeder and restocker cattle are seeing increased competition and this was reflected in the price lift in what was a dearer market.

Feeder steers gained 12 cents, selling from 388 - 445c/kg, while feeder heifers remained firm to range from 315 - 390c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers lifted, more so on breed and quality with steers reaching 450 cents and heifers selling to 385 cents.
